What we collect
When you sign up we store your name and email (via our authentication provider, Auth0) and the writing you submit for analysis. We use this to provide grammar feedback, AI tutoring, CEFR detection, and to show your progress over time.
Analytics
With your consent, we use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how PenLingo is used so we can improve it. You can accept or decline analytics cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, and analytics stay disabled until you accept. We also use Sentry to capture technical errors so we can fix them.
We use Resend to send transactional emails such as a welcome message and subscription confirmations. We do not sell your email address.
Payments
Subscriptions are processed by LemonSqueezy, our merchant of record. We never store your card details.
Your rights
You can export all of your writing history as a JSON file, and permanently delete your account and all associated data, at any time from your account settings.
