Take a clear side and defend it with specific, developed examples. Depth beats breadth.
Structure, paragraph by paragraph

Introduction (3-4 sentences)
Paraphrase the statement, then give a direct thesis: which side you take and your two or three reasons in brief.

Body paragraphs (2-3)
One reason each. Topic sentence, explanation, then a specific example: a person, a study, a personal experience with concrete details. Vague examples cost points.

Conclusion (2 sentences)
Restate your thesis in new words and recap the reasons. Keep it short.
Paraphrasing the question
Reword the statement as a question or debate: "It is better to work in a team" becomes "whether people accomplish more together or alone is a common debate".
Personal examples are welcome in TOEFL; introduce them with "For instance, when I..."
Make the thesis unmissable: "I firmly believe that..."
Swap words for synonyms: "people think" becomes "many argue", "children" becomes "young learners".
Change the word form: "the growth of online shopping" becomes "online shopping has grown".
Change the sentence structure: switch active to passive, or start from a different part of the idea.
Never copy the prompt word for word. Examiners ignore copied language when counting your words and it lowers your vocabulary score.
Keep the meaning identical. A paraphrase that changes the meaning answers the wrong question.
