The rules
- Cause first, then effect: "lead to".
- Effect first, then cause: "as a result of".
- "result in" + effect. "result from" is the other direction.
- "due to" is followed by a noun.
- "Consequently" starts a new sentence: "Consequently, …".
- Cause + can lead to + effect.
