Questions and negatives in the past.

The rules

  • Past question: Did + you + base verb.
  • After "didn’t", use the base verb: didn’t see.
  • "did" already shows the past, so the verb stays "get".
  • Did + subject + base verb: "Did he call…?"
  • Short answer with "did": No, I didn’t.
  • Question word + did + subject + base verb.
